Ejanla is back in business with Globacom which he parted ways with three years ago.The pop star has just signed his second endorsement deal with the Nigerian telecommunication company after three weeks of deliberation,NET has confirmed.
NET has reliably confirmed that D'banj has signed a multi-million naira brand endorsement deal. He now joins the likes of heavyweight musicians like Psquare,as well as recently unveiled ambassadors like Naeto C,Mi,Lynxx,Bez,Burna boy,Flavour,Waje,Omawunmi, and the little known Chee.
This deal has been said to be 'unbelievable' with those familiar with the details, saying it may be the costliest signing of 2013. The exact figures were not available. But NET learnt that just like former deals with the company, this new ambassadorship will come with added values, including an automobile and major performance commitments...
D'banj and Globacom fell out in 2010 when he reportedly refused to extend his initial 2008 N70M two year contract. Glo was allegedly offering something less, far less than what Psquare got(N240M).
The whole trouble started in 2008 when D'banj was replaced with Psquare after he demanded for a N2M fee for every performance at the then GLO campus tour
But now, three years later,a lot has changed, with Glo losing it's biggest names to competitions, they are re uniting with D'banj,a true star with an incredible fan base.
This seems to be a coup of some sort,as Etisalat had earlier reached an agrement with D'banj to be one of their brand ambassadors.
Etisalat already has top rappers like ice prince and olamide under their wings while there are rumours that 2face Idibia's deal is still pending.
MTN seems to be the leading telecommunication company by the recent mobile number portability policy. The market leader has all the star power in their nest, with the likes of
Don Jazzy,Wizkid,Davido,Tiwa Savage,KCEE, and a few others as they all rep the 'Y'HELLO' network.
It is expected that GLO will announce their deal with D'banj in a couple of days.
